Blea Tarn

Nestled in the hanging valley between Little & Great Langdale, if you want to feel like your in the land of The Lord Of The Rings, this is the place for you. With stunning views of the Langdale pikes, Lingmoor & Pike Of Blisco it is a classic lakeland gem. A short 5 minute walk from the Blea Tarn National Trust car park and from here you can walk around the tarn, or use it as a base to explore further a field, Side Pike is a rewarding nearby short walk with Birdseye views down the valley. The roads to this tarn are very narrow, windY and uneven so take caution if you plan to visit.

Blea Tarn is an amazing place to go stargazing, being in an elevated position with dark night skies, you have the added bonus of the silhouetted Langdale Pikes as a beautiful backdrop.

There are 3 tarns named blea tarn in the Lakes. The one above, one in Eskdale valley and one in Borrowdale above Watendlath.
